Check out this photo of the 899.6 lbs blue marlin which won the Emerald Coast Billfish Classic. This is an image of the lower jaw of the big blue and a corroding circle hook lodged deeply in the marlin. Was it a long line hook, did someone catch this marlin a week or two before the Cotton Patch. Just how long does it take a for a hook to dissolve? We’ll never know!
