Captain Skip Smith and the Skip Tournaments Committee announced today that there will be a white marlin tournament added to their 2016 schedule. The White Marlin Roundup will complete a three tournament series aptly named the Abaco Diamond Series, presented by Diamond Fishing Products. The White Marlin Roundup will be held Wednesday, April 27 through Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Abaco Beach Resort and Boat Harbour Marina in the Bahamas. The Committee feels the addition of a tournament dedicated to the white marlin fishery will give the Skip Tournaments schedule a fresh and updated feel to the spring tournament trail and allow his competitors to demonstrate yet another talent in their fishing program. By expanding his tournament platform, Captain Smith feels the Abaco Diamond Series competitors have an opportunity to show proficiency in three different billfish formats – recognizing the prowess of the team who fishes together, wins together. The three tournaments included in the Abaco Diamond Series are the new White Marlin Roundup, April 27-30, 2016; The Shootout: Production vs. Custom, May 25-28, 2016; and the Abaco Beach Blue Marlin Tournament (ABBMT), formerly the Abaco Beach Blue Marlin Invitational, scheduled for June 8-11, 2016.
