Reduce The Glare In Fog

Towels-in-bridge2GLARE REDUCER

Captain Rich Barrett Jupiter, Florida Skill Level (1-star) While captain Barrett was running up north from Florida in June, he encountered a lot of fog. He continued running 30 knots in what he called pea soup and kept his eyes peeled on the lookout and his radar. Off the coasts of Delaware and New Jersey there were a lot of pots that would come up on him quickly. While looking for them up ahead, an annoying glare bounced off the eisenglass. To cut down the glare off the dash and eisenglass, he laid out some dark colored towels. In his words, it made a HUGE difference in what we were able to see in front of us. Its worth a try next time the fog sets in.
