How many times have you cleared customs in the Bahamas and didn’t declare your firearms? Don’t think you can’t get caught. These guys spent a night to remember in the Bahamas. Be careful and obey the laws. It appears the Bahamas Coast Guard are patrolling and stopping American boats more than ever.
3 Men Arrested For Undeclared Firearms
Her Majesty’s Bahamian Ship (HMBS) Cascarilla, under the command of Senior Lieutenant Dwayne Small, apprehended three men yesterday for possession of undeclared weapons. The 40 foot American registered motor vessel was boarded north of Cat Cay in the Bimini chain of islands. Two 9 millimeter pistols with approximately 50 rounds of ammunition were found on board after a search was conducted by HMBS Cascarilla’s boarding team. The Captain and passengers were arrested and escorted to North Bimini where they were handed over to Police and Customs officials for further processing.
The Royal Bahamas Defence Force continues to monitor its territorial waters and patrol its border to prevent such transnational criminal activity.
