Captain Chase Lake
Skill Level (2.5 star)
Supplies Needed: 19/0 Circle Hook, Horse Ballyhoo, 20-inch section of monel or wire, 1/8th ounce lead weight.
This blue marlin pitch bait has been very effective over the years. The bait swims very well the instant it hits the water and the monel wire holds the circle hook securely in place.
Here is the side view of the monel through the eyes.
Slide your sinker over the monel where it is twisted.
Push your monel up through the ballyhoo mouth and top lip
Now in stock! Lay Day Collection. Order yours today.
Wrap the monel 3 times around the bill and mouth
Pull the monel up through the ballyhoo bill to split it down the center
Next form a quarter inch loop as pictured
Next, take two wraps with monel in front of the quarter inch loop and then push the tag end through the loop, then back through the eye socket and back around and through the quarter inch loop again
Next, finish wrapping your monel around the ballyhoo bill
Finally, place the hook point into your loop, twist 180 degrees and you have completed the circle hook ballyhoo pitch bait
