Bite Going Off in Isla!

February 17, 2015 By Michael Calabrese

February 16,2015

The Sailfish bite here in Isla Mujeres is off the charts! Consistent with the season we’ve been having, February has not disappointed thus far. While the fishing grounds are further then average, the trip is worth the while. Miles of bait rich habitat has the Sailfish hoarding themselves on sardines and putting on quite the show for folks lucky enough to get up there and see it for themselves. Boats are leaving the dock as early as 4 a.m. to travel the 60+ miles to the productive area. Epic catches have been reported including single day totals of 80 sailfish by Newt and Scotty on the Dirty Business, 79 on the Full Pull with Ryan and Bill and 71 on the D.A. Sea. All caught on February 14! Too many others to list catching in the 40’s and 50’s. Awesome stuff! Come on down soon.
