While it has been designed with the 60 to 90 plus sportfishing boat in mind, I am sure that those with smaller boats will want one too. It is engineered to operate on 24 Volt DC and is easily powered by a 24 Volt DC Charles power supply inside the console which is fed by 240 Volt AC Single Phase power coming from the generator. This enables small wire to be run from the engine room, thru the circuit breaker panel, and to the bridge where the converter converts the AC to 24 Volt DC. DC wires will be run from the console to the TD-4000 inside the pod.
The TD-4000 will only be sold thru boat builders and tower builders so that each unit can be professionally installed as the boat or tower is being built. Fishermen purchasing used boats can have this unit installed either by their favorite boat builder or tower builder. We will be working with all of these companies to ensure a good installation.
We will be displaying this unit at the Big Rock Marlin Tournament in July as well as the White Marlin Open in August. Additionally, it will be shown at the Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show. We are also looking at other tournaments in which to showcase this unit.
If you would like to see one of these in action, one is being installed in a new 62 ft. Slane being built by Tom Slane at the old Hatteras factory in High Point, NC. This new boat will be getting a lot of press. Once completed in July 2015, it will go to South Florida. Another TD-4000 is being installed in a new 64 ft. Jarrett Bay which is also scheduled to be completed in July 2015.
