International Capt. of the Year Cup- Lines are in all over the oceans this weekend and the tournament stakes are high. At the time of this writing Miss Budweiser is leading the Abaco Beach Blue Marlin Invitational by a slim margin of a 100 pt. sailfish. The fishing has been a little slower than expected but the good news is the tournament is still up for grabs. Que Mas made a move this a.m. recording a blue release and moved into second and Kraken rounds out the top 3.
East Coast Capt. of the Year Cup- South Carolina Governor’s Cup Billfishing Series Bohicket Marina Invitational Billfish Tournament is showing decent fishing with several teams releasing a couple marlin each to tie for the lead. No team has run away with this event and one or two bites will be the difference. My Three Sons was leading day 1 with two marlin releases.
Gulf Coast Captain of the Year Cup- Mississippi Gulf Coast Billfish Tournament is on and plenty of teams will be weighing in all kinds of fish this weekend. You never know who will win until the scales close in the Gulf Coast events. The highlight so far is 2014 #captoftheyear Capt. Jason Buck and the Done Deal team are up to the same old stuff- catching big marlin. Angler Katie Gonsoulin is sitting here with her 114″ LJFL marlin and they are still fishing.
