Steel Wool To The Rescue

Steel Wool to the Rescue

Rich Dennison Stars: 1 Materials Needed: Steel wool, corroded parts Rich Dennison, the store manager at Tochterman’s Fishing Tackle, sent us this great tip: A quick and easy way to take the corrosion off of any chrome-plated or stainless steel surface is to use super fine grade 0000 steel wool, found at any local hardware store. All it takes is a little elbow grease to polish the parts to look like new. With the super fine grade, it does not scratch the work surface. It is one of the things we do as a part of our reel repair service for any chrome-plated parts. It also works on rod holders, polished stainless steel fighting chair parts, etc. and produces a mirror-like finish. I buy mine at Home Depot for about $4 a bag. Rich 1 Rich 2
