Great News from San Juan: The 64th IBT is A Go

The International Billfish Tournament (IBT) of Club Nautico de San Juan has been rescheduled for December 7-10 to support Puerto Rico recovery efforts and keep the tradition alive of the longest consecutively held big game fishing tournament in the world, 64 years. We are moving forward with our favorite sport and giving a boost to the local economy that needs all the support that we can give, said Salvador Egea, Jr. chairman of this 64th edition, rescheduled after hurricane Maria hit the Island on Sept. 20. The tournament in itself is a booster. It provokes that boat owners and anglers to invest in boat preparedness purchases as fishing equipment, supplies, provisions, fuel as well as restaurants, hotels and others. Registration and pre-event meetings are scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 7 and Friday, Dec. 8, followed by a two days fishing competition on Saturday Dec. 9 and Sunday Dec. 10, when the awards ceremony will be held on the evening to the tune of Boricua Christmas Party. We are ready to fish and continue with Puerto Rico recovery efforts, said Egea. For more information please visit www.sanjuaninternational.com or send an e-mail to [email protected] IBT64 LOGO
