Harrison 41 – A Modern Sportfisher That Tips Its Hat to The Classics

The Harrison Boatworks 41 was designed by Patrick Harrison in his yard in Wanchese, North Carolina. Inspired by the boats of Capt. Warren O’Neal and Omie Tillett, the 41 was envisioned to be the ultimate modern sportfishing cruiser while reflecting Dare County boatbuilding heritage. [% oiopub-banner-24-center %] The boat has the look of a traditional, old school North Carolina boat in the lineage of builders who splashed boats 30 or 40 years ago. Harrision is something of Dare County traditionalist whose inspiration comes not from the money, but for the love of working with people to build the style of boat he is passionate about. These boats were designed to go through our rough inlets.

They handle like a mid to upper 50s in terms of seakeeping, he explains. Beyond the recently splashed 41 which includes a steering station in the salon for the long runs out of Texas, where the boat is headed, Harrison is currently building a 40 walkaround that will be outboard powered, a 20 tunnel boat, two 23s, a 28 and a flats boat.
