Captain Rick Carney and Captain Jed Galloway provided InTheBite with a backstage pass through Weaver Boatworks’ splash last year. A skybridge designed to accommodate an international fishing schedule – with planned stops from Bermuda to the Pacific, the 18 Reeler was built to accommodate lots of fishing and numerous guests (her layout includes six staterooms, eight heads and three crew bunks).
The boat includes a well-endowed electronics package put together by Atlantic Marine Electronics. She is powered by twin 16 2,000 M96 Ls – the latest offering from MTU. The boat cruises 29-31 knots while burning 160-170 gallons per hour.

Capt. Rick Carney (middle) and Capt. Jed Galloway (left) provide a thorough, insightful tour.
At upper maximum rpm, the boats runs in excess of 39 knots. The 18 Reeler has enough fuel capacity on board to run from Palm Beach to Bermuda without the need to chug. Other features include: two Seakeeper 16s, Garmin touch screen displays, a Furuno Omni Sonar, a Larry Belkov designed interior, a full galley and much more.
