White Marlin Open—Weighing in at 97 pounds, the Canyon Blues team, out of Ocean City, MD, not only moved to first place but weighed the third largest white marlin in the history of the 47-year White Marlin Open.
Canyon Blues also took $1.5 million from the second place 77-pound white marlin caught by Drillin & Billin, out of Hatteras, NC, on Friday. Drillin & Billin is still winning over $1.5 million for the second-place white, according to a tournament report. The Crisdel out of Islamorada, FL weighed a 77-pound white on Saturday good for third place and $90,000. The fish was taken by Frank Criscola from Bedminster, NJ.
