Four Things to Bring On Board During Your Next Long Fishing Trip

August 12, 2020 By InTheBite Editor

Quatix 6 from Garmin: Possibly the Ultimate Marine Smart Watch

The quatix 6 is a smartwatch that is chock full of more specialized boating and fishing capabilities than we have space to list—connectivity with compatible Garmin chartplotters, autopilot control, data streaming, entertainment control and more. It allows users to receive alerts on their wrist for incoming calls, texts, emails and thanks to the Garmin Pay™ contactless payment solution, it’s easy to make purchases quickly on the go with nothing needed but the watch. The quatix 6 series also features on-device music storage of up to 2,000 songs.

The quatix 6 can stream NMEA® 2000 boat data such as speed, depth, temperature, wind data and more – right from their wrist, no matter where they are on the boat. When paired with an onboard autopilot, it can also be used to control the autopilot to change heading, engage pattern steering, and follow a GPS route. It can mark and save a waypoint from anywhere on the boat without having to return to the helm. When properly connected, the quatix 6 can also be utilized as both a dedicated or back-up navigation tool. The quatix 6 is available now in two versions: the quatix 6 (MSRP $699.99) and the quatix 6 Titanium (MSRP $999.99).

Yeti Roadie 24: A Great Take on a Portable Cooler

The Roadie 24 from Yeti is a practical, highly portable hard cooler that is perfect for packing on the boat or in the truck. The Roadie 24 is 10% lighter, holds 20% more and performs 30% better thermally than its predecessor, the Roadie 20. The Roadie 24 features rotomolded construction that makes it thinner and lighter-weight for easier transport, while still being incredibly tough. It also includes Yeti’s PermafrostTM insulation that is capable of keeping ice for days and is designed for one-handed cooler access. The cooler’s internal height of 13″ leaves room for standard bottles of wine fit to fit upright. The Roadie 24 is available now via yeti.com. MSRP: $199.99

Impellereze: Remove and Replace Your Old Impeller in Less than 30 Seconds

The Impellereze tool was developed to help owners and captains replace their seawater impellers on their main engines without calling a mechanic. Impellers may seem like an afterthought until one goes bad in the middle of a tournament, 50 miles offshore. Prior to Impellereze, most boat owners had to chug back to the dock and wait for hours until the mechanic shows up. With this innovative tool (that has a puller included), you can now go down in the engine room and remove and replace a bad impeller yourself—in less than a minute.

Impellereze tools are made for Cat, MAN, Cummins, Volvo, and soon, Detroit Marine Engines, by pump size and impeller size and are available for purchase and shipment worldwide. To order your Impellereze tool or to check out the how-to videos, please visit www.impellereze.com.
