San Antonio, Texas—Transport solutions provider Scania recently announced it will be taking its 900 and 1,150 horsepower diesel engines to the US recreational market.
According to a press release, the light-weight engines employ a wastegate turbocharger and do not need additional turbos or superchargers while also optimizing fuel efficiency with lower noise.
“Scania has built a hard-won reputation for exceptional products, coupled with first-class service and support in some of the most demanding markets in the industry,” Scania Sale Manager Al Alcalá, said in the release. “With the launch of our new 13-and 16-liter engines, certified for the pleasure craft market, we now offer our customers in the long-range cruising and sport fishing segments unprecedented power and efficiency with reliability they can count on.”

Owners will also be able to take advantage of Scania’s support service system, which includes more than 300 service workshops and nearly 2,000 service points worldwide. The company also promises 98 percent parts availability within 24 hours in North America along with full-time assistance locating parts and expediting repairs.
