Michael Rybovich & Sons: III Amigos

C07A7854 2

Four generations have persevered in keeping the Rybovich family business afloat and hull #6 built at the Michael Rybovich & Sons yard represents many significances. This functionally luxurious 94-footer is the largest boat ever built by the Rybovich clan and the first to feature an enclosed flybridge. III Amigos is also the first Rybovich to display a straight-sheer profile since Almar was splashed in 2007 and incorporates design cues from the family first naval architect and marine engineer”Dusty Rybovich. Despite the many novelties, III Amigos is a classic Rybovich through and through, retaining a clean foredeck, moderately raked house and cold-molded construction techniques. rybovich The laminated keel and stringers support a Philippine mahogany hull that is enveloped with 1708 biaxial fiberglass and epoxy resin. The result is a strong and relatively light structure. Altogether, topped off with fuel and tower, III Amigos weighs 165,000 pounds and will hit 41 knots at WOT. A 30-knot cruising speed turning 1,850 RPM burns 146 gallons per hour, providing an approximate 700-mile range. She fast and agile for such a large platform, but what makes III Amigos so vastly different than any other Rybovich is the custom interior by renowned superyacht designer Patrick Knowles. rybovich Step up to the air-conditioned mezzanine with chaise to port and sectional settee to starboard and enter the light and bright salon through the full view sliding glass door. Far from a traditional sportfish interior, the salon maximizes natural light and accentuates the space with wide plank oak flooring treated with a milk wash. The tongue and groove ceiling is appointed with a brilliant white satin finish. Looking beyond the mystic white leather sofa with tailored navy welt, the galley bar comprises white quartz and a ledge of Azul Bahia marble. Vertical faces are accentuated with back-lit onyx and barstools feature dark wenge wood and custom blue alligator hide. rybovich The staterooms are no less extravagant and have unmatched personalization throughout. The vessel features a full beam master suite, two additional guest staterooms and two crew cabins forward”all with ensuite heads. A climate-controlled retreat in itself, the enclosed bridge with its appealing combination of teak and wenge wood has a forward wraparound console with centered Stidd helm seat and flanking built-in companion seating. Significant room aft allows for a head, L-shape lounge, refrigerator, microwave, sink, pantry with china storage and pop-up TV lift cabinet. From the massive cockpit with its Burmese teak BlueWater fighting chair, the oversized entry to the engine room steps down into a tackle and tool room that lends easy access to the Seakeeper, Dometic combination Sea Xchange and Spot Zero XZ water maker, and Brownie compressor for refilling scuba tanks. rybovich Continuing through the watertight bulkhead door brings you to the bright and functional engine room highlighting the mtu 16V M96Ls with ZF gears and matching set of Kohler gensets. Among the many innovative systems found throughout, III Amigos has the ability to pull fuel from different tanks, polish fuel and also change oil at the turn of a valve. fighting chair Clearly a boat that will reward an experienced captain and owner, the technical complexity and levels of exterior and interior detailing of the latest build from the first family in custom sportfishing boats crushes industry convention in classic Rybovich tradition.
