New Year, New Gear – A Few Items to Check Out for 2023

Numerous fishing gear companies have kicked off 2023 with revolutionary new products. Here are a few items of interest early on in 2023. Links to each company’s website provided in the heading.

X-series Freestanding Rocket Launchers From Release Marine

We went back to the drawing board to design this new series of Freestanding Rocket Launchers. The smaller size 4X and 6X models still have enough room for rod holders, cup holders, a bait tray and tackle drawer storage. The 8X six outer rod holders allow two anglers to each manage three kite baits. The additional two rod holders have been brought to the front, while two small storage trays on the aft side accompany the central bait tray. With optional pitch bait tubes, the two center rod holders also work as pitch rods. The 11X launcher patterns have always had six rod holders on the aft side of the board, which gives your arms access to the other five. For greater comfort, we also flipped the two rows to bring the six holders to the forward side closer to the angler. Release Marine main

Mercury Marine Introduces the Industry First V10 Outboards

Verado new V10 engines are the quietest and smoothest in their class, running 45 percent quieter than a leading competitor at cruise. In addition to NVH, these Verado not only work with the latest Mercury SmartCraft® technologies but will also be offered with an optional dual-mode 48V/12V alternator to seamlessly pair with Navico Group Fathom® e-Power System, an integrated lithium-ion auxiliary power management system. The V10 Verado outboards leverage many of the same market-leading features and technologies boaters love about the company popular V12, V8 and V6 platforms. The V10 supports a wide range of applications, from large saltwater center consoles to single-engine freshwater fishing boats to pontoons and smaller center consoles. Weighing only 695 pounds and with the same industry-leading 26 mount spacing as the V8 outboards, the V10 engines maximize compatibility with current boat designs. This lightweight, compact design makes them perfect for multi-engine applications or repowering vessels. Mercury
