New Virginia Bluefin Record?

April 2, 2015  just before closing we got a call about a huge Bluefin Tuna being brought in to our docks, rumor had it it could possibly break the state record. We hung it from our scales and it weighed in at 578 pounds, breaking the current state record. We notified the state board and they sent down a witness, the official pending state record weight was 576.5 pounds. A huge Congratulations to Robert Smith and crew!

Did Three Anglers Release the Largest Tarpon Ever Caught on Rod-and-Reel?

This is the current International Game Fish Association all-tackle world-record tarpon, taken off West Africa in 2003.The guide, at left, by the way, was Patrick Sebile.The fish measured about a foot less than the giant tarpon released off Nicaragua.

972.7-lbs Texas Record Confirmed

Several new records for blue marlin releases have been set by Capt. Josh Temple and the Carol Libby team. Fishing from their 60-foot Spencer/ACY custom, they’ve turned in some incredible numbers from their home port of Los Suenos, Costa Rica this season, proving once again that the marlin fishing there is some of the best in the world. Big Oh Ends Season With 404 Marlin

“Another incredible fishing season comes to a close (April, May, June). We had much better fishing conditions this year with most days fishing the São Pedro bank only eight miles from the marina. Some highlights were the release of 37 fish over 500, four fish over 800 and two triples with my son and grandson. We end the season with 404 Atlantic blue marlin releases.
