Mate Job Description – 72

Full time 2nd mate position for a multi boat sportfish program. Primary duty is to assist with all aspects of a 72’ sportfishing boat. This role will also support and help with maintenance and operation of small watercrafts. Must have strong- interpersonal skills, work ethic, and be an adaptable team player.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Support Captain and crew as directed
Pre and post season set up and break down
Exterior maintenance
Interior maintenance
Engine Room Maintenance
Travel as needed

Qualifications & Credentials:

Valid Driver’s License
Current Passport
NYS Marine Fishing Registry (annual)
Plus to have
STCW Certificate – Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping
CPR, First Aid, Fire Fighting
USCG Captains license

Experience:

General boating and fishing knowledge
Service background a plus
2 years minimum experience on sportfishing vessel

Program Schedule:

May – October – Hamptons, NY
Inshore/offshore fishing
October/November – Possible NYC/Transit to FL
Based on tuna/striped bass fishing
November – April – West Palm, FL
Possible travel Miami/Bahamas/Caribbean
